Abstract
The preparation and structure of the rigid rod-like platinum monoacetylide {Pt}CC-4-C6H2I-1-(CH2NMe2)2-2,6) ({Pt} = [Pt(C6H3{Me2NCH2}2-2,6)]) are described. Its oxidative addition to Pd(dba)2 yields a heterobinuclear {Pt}CC{Pd}I complex ({Pd} = [Pd(-4-C6H2{Me2NCH2}2-2,6)]+); this provides a new strategy for the controlled and stepwise construction of rigid rod-like metallopolymers.
