Abstract
A novel route for the synthesis of metal-tetraazadiene complexes is reported involving the direct transfer of a Ar{2}N{4} ligand from [Ni(Ar{2}N{4}){2}] to Ni}0{ and Pt}0{ centres in the presence of t-butylisocyanide, resulting in [M(Ar{2}N{4})(t-BuNC){2}] species.
