Abstract
BACKGROUND: Despite therapeutic hypothermia (TH) and neonatal intensive care, 45-50% of children affected by moderate-to-severe neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) die or suffer from long-term neurodevelopmental impairment.
