Abstract

SAMENVATTING De vorming van causatieve werkwoorden met een adjectief als basis (zoals ingrandire, gebaseerd op grande) wordt gebruikt als voorbeeld voor een gedetailleerd uitgewerkte woordvormingsregel. Hierbij worden Aronoff 1976 en Jackendoff 1975 en 1976 als uitgangspunt genomen. Het hoofdstuk eindigt met een uitsplitsing van het begrip productiviteit in rendement (een statistische notie) en productief-zijn (een dynamisch verschijnsel).

RIASSUNTO La formazione di verbi causativi in base ad aggettivi (come ingrandire su grande) viene utilizzata come esempio di una regola di formazione delle parole elaborata in tutti i suoi dettagli. Aronoff 1976 e Jackendoff 1975 e 1976 vengono presi come punti di partenza. Il capitolo finisce con la scissione della nozione di produttività in rendimento della regola (che è una nozione statistica) e l’esser produttivo (che rappresenta un fatto dinamico).

SUMMARY The creation of causative verbs from adjectives, such as ingrandire from grande, is used as an example of a word formation rule, worked out in all its aspects. The models for this approach are Aronoff 1976 and Jackendoff 1975 and 1976. This chapter ends with the distinction of two notions of productivity, the statistic notion of yield (or production) and the dynamic phenomenon of being productive.
