Abstract
Triumphus Cupidinis (1628) by Ysermans is often read in the light of Triumphus Jesu (1633), the explicit response to Ysermans’s collection by a nun. In comparison with Triumphus Jesu, Triumphus Cupidinis can be perceived as a collection of light-hearted poems and songs. However, the character of Triumphus Cupidinis is versatile.
