Abstract
The work presented in the thesis focusses on the synthesis and optical properties of colloidal Cu-chalcogenide nanocrystals and CuInS2 nanocrystals in particular. Novel synthesis approaches that yield nanocrystals with unprecedented sizes, shapes and/or hetero-architectures are developed, and the properties of these new materials are investigated.
