Abstract
SUMMARY: Following the publication of his De Humani Corporis Fabrica, Vesalius asked his former teacher, the Parisian professor Jacobus Sylvius, for his opinion. Their letters have not been preserved, but Vesalius summarized his arguments in De radice chinae epistola, published with or without his consent in 1546.
