Abstract
SUMMARY: This paper offers a brief biographical sketch of Jeremias De Drijvere or Thriverius (1504-1554) who became professor at the medical faculty of Leuven University. In particular, the author analyses two of De Drijvere's most important writings, De Missione sanguinis in pleuritide (1532) and his inaugural lecture of 1544.
