Abstract
Dissolved organic matter (DOM) plays an important role in the global carbon cycle
(chapter 1). However, not much is known about the molecular composition and the
origin of DOM. The study described in this thesis was conducted to gain more
knowledge on the molecular composition and the origin of DOM.
