Abstract

The fundamental duty of coastal states and the CLCS with respect to the determination of the limits of an inner and outer continental shelf within and beyond 200 miles respectively without affecting boundary delimitation of these areas is expressly laid down in Article 76(10) of the UNCLOS Continental Shelf Part VI.
