Prototypen en preposities

Abstract

SAMENVATTING Als voorstudie voor een voorzetselonderzoek wordt een onderzoek gedaan naar de in 1985 beschikbare prototypebenaderingen. De studies van Lindner, Brugman en Herskovits worden besproken, met een voorkeur voor de aanpak van Herskovits. De Italiaanse voorzetsels su en sopra worden gebruikt als voorbeelden om de theorieën aan te illustreren. RIASSUNTO Nel quadro di una ricerca sulle preposizioni italiane si studiano le teorie della semantica dei prototipi disponibili nel 1985. Si discutono in particolare le teorie di Lindner, Brugman e Herskovits, con una preferenza per l’approccio di quest’ultima studiosa. Le preposizioni su e sopra vengono utilizzate come esempi per illustrare le teorie. SUMMARY As a preliminary study for a research project on Italian prepositions the prototype theories available in 1985 are analyzed. The discussion centers upon the approaches of Lindner, Brugman and Herskovits, with a preference for the last author. The Italian prepositions su and sopra are used as examples for illustrating the various theories.
