Abstract
This special issue of ‘Geologie en Mijnbouw’ is
dedicated to Professor Hans Zijderveld, head of the
paleomagnetic laboratory ‘Fort Hoofddijk’ of Utrecht
University until March 1995. Hans was among the
founders of this laboratory and he guided the paleomagnetic
