1. 1. The phospholipids of Staphylococcus aureus were fractionated on silicic acid columns. The major compounds all appeared to be polyglycerol lipids. Diphosphatidyl glycerol and phosphatidyl glycerol were identified by comparison with the synthetic phospholipids.
