The European vaccine market and future products

Abstract

Bilthoven Biologicals (BBio) is a company that manufactures vaccines. However, BBio does not have a business development department. This project is developed to explore the current European vaccine market and predict its future. Based on these findings, a set of recommendations will be formulated that should help BBio adjust its activities to suit the future European vaccine market. In July of 2012, the Dutch government decided to sell their vaccine producing business to the Serum Institute of India (SII). The new venture, called Bilthoven Biologicals (BBio), used to be limited to sales within the Netherlands. About a year ago, BBio entered the vaccine market. They have the production ability to expand their business beyond the borders of the Netherlands. However, they do not have any market information or a business development unit to gather this information. A business development plan is necessary to know where sales can be generated, now and in the future.
